Truespace Launch

Confetti

I’m excited to announce the official launch of Truespace Consulting. This venture has been over a year in the making and a labor of love.

I’m Hallie Pond - founder of TrueSpace. I bring over a decade of experience in sales, program management, public speaking and facilitation, customer success, and leadership. I’ve worked across industries from retail to non-profits and technology. Now, I don an entrepreneurial hat with a mission to cultivate psychologically safe spaces where people feel empowered to be their authentic selves in the workplace.

Nearly a decade ago, I was promoted into a management position for the first time. While exciting, it was also a challenging transition from my previous role as an individual contributor. After interviewing 70+ employees at 60 different small-mid sized companies over the last year, I confirmed I wasn’t alone - 80% of those surveyed stated that they were not confident in their company’s training and support for managers.

Clear promotion paths are motivating. That said, just because an employee is a skilled individual contributor, doesn’t always immediately translate to effective or inspiring leadership skills. According to Entrepreneur, 44% of new managers feel unprepared for their role. Furthermore, Inc. says that 60% of new managers fail in their first 2 years. It’s no wonder that managers suffer great stress and feel at a loss for how to excel at their jobs. They may struggle to delegate, determine priorities, manage team dynamics, navigate conflict, facilitate performance reviews, and deliver feedback. Due to the lack of support and guidance, many managers feel like they’re falling short of expectations - depleting their confidence and weighing heavy on their mental health. Teams may suffer too as unsupported managers can unintentionally create stressful team environments - negatively impacting productivity, employee satisfaction, and employee retention.

That’s why TrueSpace was founded - built on the belief that by holding space for leaders to explore their strengths and blindspots, people will feel more confident leading as their authentic selves. By leaning into authenticity and vulnerability, leaders inspire cultures of belonging and purpose at their companies.

Leaders are people first.

Leaders aren’t always people managers. Some leaders are employees who lead by example within their teams and departments. They are found at all levels within company hierarchies and have varying degrees of influence.

No person is perfect, and there is no one particular personality profile or magic quality of a “good” leader. In fact, let’s do away with dichotomies of “good” and “bad” altogether - each person has strengths and blindspots, but neither make a person inherently good or bad.

Management roles come with a certain amount of pressure - both internal (a manager puts pressure on her/him/themself) and external (teams and senior-level leaders / board members put pressure on mid-level managers and executives, respectively). Many leaders label themselves as “high achievers" - the “get sh*t done-ers” and the “doers” within companies. All that pressure can manifest feelings of anxiety, imposter syndrome, and stress.

Truespace holds space for your truth. We help leaders cultivate deeper levels of self-awareness; develop mindfulness practices to overcome feelings of fear, shame and guilt; and navigate how to be brave and authentic at work. They experience less stress, feel empowered to create and hold healthier boundaries, effectively navigate uncomfortable conflict, and cultivate stronger team dynamics. All of which improves team performance and cross-functional alignment, increases employee satisfaction, and reduces employee attrition.

Happy employees = happy customers.

Healthy team dynamics lead to creative solutions + bold and impactful client experiences. When employees feel connected to a collective purpose, they’re more likely to put their egos aside, work harder and put the best interests of their team and company above themselves. That said, start-ups don’t always have the time or resources to invest in the strategies, processes, systems, and tools to effectively support their team and by extension, their customers. That’s why we also offer consultation services to help companies refine their customer success strategy.

By investing in our services, companies will increase both customer and employee satisfaction + the lifetime value of your client base.

We hope you’ll join us on our journey!
